David Hill to lead military engineers’ society
The $13M-revenue Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) has chosen U.S. Army Maj. Gen. David Hill as executive director, effective June 2. He also serves as executive director of the SAME Foundation, separately incorporated and with its own board of directors but fully integrated for financial management and SAME program support. Hill succeeds Maj. Gen. Michael Wehr.
“Dave has a great combination of expertise of our core military engineering community, a service-mindset, and a proven track record of operating in a collaborative, team-oriented environment,” said Mike Huffstetler, SAME national president.
Hill has more than three decades of experience as leader within the U.S. Army, serving most recently as commandant of the Army War College.

Staff Departures
American Bankers Association — Kirsten Sutton has left her role as executive vice president of congressional relations and legislative affairs at the $175M-revenue American Bankers Association. She has joined financial services institution Royal Bank of Canada as senior vice president of global government affairs and public policy.
Motion Picture Association — Greg Saphier is leaving his role as senior vice president and head of public affairs at the $83M-revenue Motion Picture Association. He is joining Shape Advocacy as a principal.
